Data Corruption in SQL Server using DTS

In SQL Server, the analysis services have the purpose of delivering data mining and Online Analytical Processing or OLAP functionality for business intelligence applications. This service lets you to design and manage multidimensional structures which contain the collected data from different sources, mainly relational databases. But the serious problems of SQL database may arise when you use DTS for this. This would require SQL database repair.

DTS is termed as Data Transformation Services. For the databases, these services act as the set of objects and utilities which allow the functioning of certain operations applicable on the database like of SQL Server. These operations are extract, transform and load. DTS tools come included with MS SQL Server and most of the times used with these databases. The operations of transforming and loading can be done from various sources like OLEDB (Object Linking and Embedding DataBase) and ODBC (Open DataBase Connectivity) or text files.

This corruption sets into scenario when you use the DTS for merging the partitions when lazy processing is on its move. Partitioning tables and indexes is tact chosen for design improving performance and manageability in larger databases. Actually when there is some discrepancy among the rigid aggregations then by default analysis services starts a background process called lazy processing to enable the users to see the updated data sooner and if in the mean time the DTS tries to merge the partition, the corruption in the database sets in.

For the solution, Microsoft has suggested to use Decision Support Objects or DSO process which will delay lazy processing while you are trying to merge the partitions after finishing the merging, you must use DSO for resuming the lazy process. This acts like a pro active measure that you should know before merging the partitions while if the effect has already affected the database and has made it corrupt then to repair it is more important.

SQL database repair is the option available with the SQL recovery software. These software regardless of the fact of the corruption are applicable for repairing each and every object of SQL database. These software enable SQL database repair by scanning the corrupted database and then extracting the data from them by the use of algorithms.

Now at the point when you are going to choose the SQL recovery tool for your databases, the reliability should be there as that would be the running factor for the perfect MDF repair. So be selective.
