Deep Freezer or Fridge Which Is the Best

By: Lee Lazarus

In the old days even before the innovation of the electrical appliances our ancestors had different ways of preserving food and other stuffs. Even though some stuffs like milk were hard to keep it fresh for a long period of time. Some of the methods that they used were not reliable as it was used to preserve food for a short period of time.

As time went on, the deep freezers and deep fridge were invented which solved the problem of food storage. Though everything has its own advantages and disadvantages, the invention came with its own disadvantages; some even worse than the traditional methods of preservation. Research has shown deep fridges are the best in terms of storing your food stuff at home as the temperature of the fridge can be controlled as per the way it is partitioned.

A deep fridge is designed in a way that the things that are supposed to be stored at extreme low temperatures have their own section where the temperatures are maintained. Other food stuff that requires optimum temperatures have their own section where if the temperature goes low the deep fridge automatically goes off. There is also a fitted bulb inside the deep fridge that goes on automatically if the temperature goes down.

With deep freezers, the temperature is equal for all the food stuff. Deep freezers appear best for milk and juice but for other food stuff it’s the worst and may end up reducing the nutritional value of some foods. Deep freezers are best for long term storage of food that easily go bad and can stay in the deep freezer for as long as one year.

Refrigerators are designed for different purposes because the temperature can be easily controlled. A deep fridge can be used in the hospital to control the temperature of certain drugs that need slightly low or low temperatures. Deep fridge maintains temperature below the freezing point of water unlike freezers which keep their content frozen.

Research has shown that deep freezers use toxic gas systems, which at times leak making them unsafe for home use. This led to the discovery of deep fridge in 1915 and it was bought by many people in USA as it was non-toxic and non-flammable.

Most of the deep freezers require defrosting by opening the door of the deep freezer to allow humidity to melt the frozen ice, unlike the deep fridge which automatically defrosts itself with the lights that are fitted to control temperatures if they go below a certain point.

A deep fridge is economical in terms of energy saving as it goes off and turns itself on automatically when the temperature varies which is even safer to use in case of a power failure. For a deep freezer one has to switch it off and on when you need to do so.

The invention of a deep fridge is cheap compared to the deep freezer and most people can afford it; it is best for dairy products, meats and vegetables. Lastly the best thing with refrigerators are that certain foods can be kept separately for reasons of hygiene.
