You may be one of the many people who have dreamt about getting out of the rat race and starting your own house cleaning business. Working for yourself, making your own schedule, and being responsible for your own success in life is something that many desire but few actually attain. However, with the right know-how and a lot of dedication, you too can be one of the success stories and be the envy of everyone around you.

There are many pros and cons to any line of work, whether it is being self-employed or not. If you are thinking of owning a business, you must consider the degree of flexibility that you will have and if it will suit the type of lifestyle that you envision for yourself and your family. One of the most difficult things about owning your own business is that if you are feeling under the weather or you have employees and someone calls off, you may be the one to come in on a day off to fill in, which can quickly become pretty frustrating. On the flip side, though, if a day comes along when things are going fine and you feel that you really dont need to be present at your store, you can always go home with no dock in pay.

The main reason that many people want to start their own home cleaning service business is for the options. The business can fit into any lifestyle and can be as full-time or as part-time as you want it to be. Between 1965 and 1995 the number of households that have hired professionals to clean their homes has risen by 53%! This growth mainly can be contributed to the fact that many more households these days have both parents working, so neither parent is home on a daily basis to take care of all of the cleaning and the chores. This means that the supply of customers and the demand for your services is increasing daily.

One of the main things that stops would-be entrepreneurs from actually following their dreams of self-proprietorship is the fact that to make money, youve got to spend money. Too many industries that need self-starters require hundreds or thousands of dollars for start up costs. The good news here is that to start a home cleaning business, it can all be started for as little as $100. The money can be used for some basic cleaning supplies and a little bit of advertising, whether that is an ad in the paper or fliers throughout the neighborhood announcing your opening of the business.

Working from your home is a huge incentive for starting work like this, because there is no rent to pay for an office, no utility bills, no overhead costs hardly at all. All you really need is the cleaning supplies and a telephone so that customers can contact you when they need something done, and youll be well on your way to being successful at owning your own house cleaning business.
