What is Solidworks?

Solidworks is the first choice when it comes to CAD Software Design in the 3D Mechanical Market. Solidworks Software runs on Microsoft Windows and was originally created by the Solidworks Corporation. The Software has a huge user base, estimated figures are around 800,000 worldwide Designers and Engineers. Solidworks is so flexible that is appeals to individual users and leading companies. Creating objects in Solidworks starts with a 2D sketch/idea, this drawing contains information such as Points and Arcs. Dimensions are then added to the drawing to get the actual size and placement of the geometry. What has made Solidworks so successful in the CAD Design Marketplace is the fact it has such powerful design capabilities, easy to use and adaptable and also coming in at an affordable cost. It helps companies reduce the development time and gets products on the market quicker which also gives them a competitive edge and best of all increase those ever important sales.
